Gregory Rousseau gave Buffalo one more possession. His blocked field-goal attempt kept the Rams from winning in overtime, and Tyler Bass finished the Bills' answer with a 45-yard field goal. Buffalo won 37-34 Monday night at SoFi Stadium and improved to 4-1. Los Angeles fell to 2-3.

The decisive sequence needs both kicks, not only the one that scored. The NFL's recap credits Rousseau with the block and describes Josh Allen advancing Buffalo into field-goal range with his running. The Bills' official scoring record lists the winning possession as five plays for 35 yards. That drive distance is separate from Bass' 45-yard kick.

Five touchdowns, no separation

The fourth quarter produced 35 points. Puka Nacua's touchdown put Los Angeles ahead 20-19. Allen's one-yard touchdown run and a two-point pass to Dalton Kincaid made it 27-20 Buffalo. Davante Adams' second touchdown catch tied it at 27. James Cook's five-yard run restored the Bills' lead, and Kyren Williams' one-yard score and the extra point made it 34-34.

Those were five consecutive touchdown possessions, according to the NFL. Buffalo had scored 19 points through three quarters, then added 15 in the fourth. Los Angeles entered that quarter with 14 and added 20. Neither offense created a lead its defense could preserve through regulation.

The win is real. So is the work left.

Bass had opened Buffalo's scoring with field goals of 49 and 23 yards. His overtime kick was a third field goal, and the only score of the extra period. The original graphic alongside this report follows the blocked attempt and the winning answer without treating drive duration as time left on the clock.

The useful conclusion is not that everything is fixed. Buffalo won despite a fourth quarter in which Los Angeles kept answering. Special teams changed the last opportunity, then the offense and Bass used it. A 4-1 record is the confirmed reward. The defensive corrections still have to follow.
