Brewers beat Padres 3-1, clinch NLDS and set up Dodgers matchup

The Brewers beat the Padres 3-1 at Petco Park in Wednesday's Game 4, finishing their National League Division Series with three wins in four games. Milwaukee advances to face the Dodgers in the NL Championship Series.
Garrett Mitchell drove in Sal Frelick with a third-inning single to open the scoring. Fernando Tatis Jr. answered with a solo home run in the bottom half, tying the game at one. It was San Diego's only run.
Chourio put Milwaukee ahead for good
Jackson Chourio delivered the decisive hit in the fifth. His single to center scored Mitchell and restored Milwaukee's lead. Frelick added a sacrifice fly in the sixth, bringing home Jake Bauers for the final run.
Milwaukee finished with 10 hits to San Diego's three. Aaron Ashby received the win, Robbie Ray took the loss and Trevor Megill earned the save. The Brewers left 10 runners on base, but their pitching made the three runs stand up.
The Dodgers are next
MLB lists NLCS Game 1 for Sunday, October 11, with the Dodgers visiting Milwaukee. The start time remained to be announced at our source check. Both clubs closed their Division Series in four games, leaving the National League matchup settled before a possible Game 5 was needed.
