Ryans confirms Harrison to Houston; reported price includes a 2027 second
October 11 · Coach confirms acquisition
Updated
Marvin Harrison Jr. is headed to Houston. Texans coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed the acquisition after Sunday's game, KPRC reported. That answers the central question left open by Saturday's trade reporting: which team was getting the receiver.
Arizona's official website attributes the terms to Sunday's reports: the Cardinals would receive Houston's 2027 second-round and sixth-round picks, with Harrison and a 2027 seventh-round pick going the other way. We have not independently inspected a league transaction filing. The acquisition and the reported compensation should not be presented as identical kinds of confirmation.
Harrison reunites with C.J. Stroud, his quarterback at Ohio State. Arizona's account lists five catches for 85 yards and a touchdown through four games this season. Those numbers describe the start he is leaving; they do not establish what he will produce in a different offense.
Our read: Houston is spending future draft flexibility for a receiver whose existing quarterback connection makes the fit understandable. Familiarity can help the transition. It cannot settle his role, target share or the offense's results in advance. The next meaningful evidence will be how Houston uses him, not the reunion itself.
