Topps lists 2026 Allen & Ginter Baseball as available now. The official store currently shows one direct retail option: a Value Box priced at $24.99 with six cards per pack and eight packs per box, for 48 cards before any production variation.

The release uses a 300-card base checklist that mixes current players, retired stars and subjects from outside baseball. Topps also provides downloadable checklist and odds documents, which means collectors can evaluate the actual names and format-specific probabilities before buying.

The two box promises are not equal

The Value Box page says to look for autograph and relic cards. That is promotional possibility, not a box guarantee. The official odds sheet lists separate rates for Fat Pack, Hobby and Value Box formats, and many of the most visible hits are much longer shots in Value Boxes.

The Hobby configuration is different. Topps says it contains eight cards per pack across 18 packs, or 144 cards, and includes two autograph, relic, Rip Card or printing plate cards per box. That wording means two cards total from the combined group, not two of every type.

Collectors should also keep 'includes' separate from a specific-player promise. A checklist shows which subjects are intended for a set or subset. It does not guarantee that a named subject, autograph or parallel will appear in one box.

The odds sheet puts scale on the chase

For a few concrete comparisons, the official sheet lists a framed mini baseball autograph at 1:67 Hobby packs and 1:555 Value Box packs. A framed mini relic is listed at 1:70 Hobby packs and 1:331 Value Box packs. A standard Allen & Ginter Rip Card is listed at 1:81 Hobby packs and is not offered in the Value Box column.

Even common inserts differ by format. Base mini cards are listed at 1:2 Hobby packs and 1:3 Value Box packs. Foil Filagree base parallels are 1:24 Hobby packs and 1:48 Value Box packs. Topps cautions that intended configurations and actual contents or odds can vary.

The local checklist has substance. Francisco Lindor leads the base set at card No. 1, followed by Derek Jeter, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. It also includes Juan Soto, Mike Piazza, Aaron Judge, Cam Schlittler as a rookie, Don Mattingly, CC Sabathia, Mariano Rivera, Ben Rice, Jorge Posada, Gerrit Cole, Thurman Munson, Max Fried, Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Cody Bellinger.

New York collectors have a real checklist angle

That New York depth is a better editorial reason to pay attention than generic scarcity language. The set connects current Mets and Yankees, franchise history, rookies and non-baseball personalities inside one deliberately eclectic checklist.

The non-baseball side includes entertainment and music names across the base and autograph checklists. The attraction is variety. It is also why a collector should read the complete checklist rather than assume every pack will feel baseball-centered.

Choose the Value Box for the lower upfront price and accept that its autograph and relic language is aspirational. Choose Hobby only if the larger card count and the two-card combined hit guarantee justify the price available from an authorized seller. The useful buying rule

The disciplined read is simple: configuration first, checklist second, exact-format odds third. The front of the box sells the possibility. The official documents explain the purchase.
