WWE catch-up, Oct. 9-12: the titles changed hands, then Raw changed the argument
Episodes and event: October 9-12, 2026
Updated
A championship win, a briefcase win and a no-contest are three different outcomes. WWE's October 9-12 run produced all three. This catch-up follows the completed shows into Monday's fallout, not the still-to-come October 16 SmackDown.
SmackDown, October 9: new tag champions
Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley took the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship from Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid on the October 9 episode. Bliss replaced Charlotte Flair after a backstage attack. The new pairing won when Paxley finished Henley.
Lash Legend, Tiffany Stratton and Jacy Jayne beat Roxanne Perez, Sol Ruca and Lola Vice. Legend then attacked her own partners, underlining how little that temporary alliance meant with individual briefcases at stake. The MFTs also beat The War Raiders in a non-title match.
The Vision's attack interrupted Trick Williams against Bron Breakker, with Penta and Je'Von Evans also caught in the assault. WWE's report does not give that interrupted match a conventional winner. Its headline and recap identify the episode as October 9; a separate date widget displays October 7. We use the episode label, not an inferred taping date.
Money in the Bank, October 10: two contracts, one title change
Liv Morgan won the Women's World Championship in the October 10 triple threat against Stephanie Vaquer and Becky Lynch. Morgan finished Vaquer after the champion had sent Lynch through a table. That was the night's championship change; Roman Reigns kept the World Heavyweight Championship by beating LA Knight.
Tiffany Stratton won the women's ladder match. Penta won the men's, beating Bron Breakker to the decisive climb after taking him out with a ladder-assisted Mexican Destroyer. Those victories awarded Money in the Bank contracts, not world titles. Oba Femi also defeated Bronson Reed.
The distinction is the point of the weekend: Morgan left with a championship already secured. Stratton and Penta left with a future opportunity. A briefcase does not tell us when it will be used or whether its holder will become champion.
Raw, October 12: Hayes returns, Gable retains
Carmelo Hayes returned during Solo Sikoa and The Usos against The 946. His interference left the six-man match a no-contest, and he helped The 946 attack their opponents. An alliance emerged in the closing scene, but no team earned a match victory.
Chad Gable retained the Intercontinental Championship against Rey Fenix. Rey Mysterio beat Big Cass, and Roxanne Perez defeated Chelsea Green in a non-title match. Green's defeat did not transfer her championship to Perez.
Raw also carried the weekend's conflicts forward: Breakker disrupted Penta's celebration, Femi rejected Paul Heyman's approach, and Green confronted Morgan ahead of their announced champion-versus-champion meeting at Crown Jewel. The follow-up changed the relationships around the winners without reversing Saturday's results.
